An ambitious and
slightly high-strung geologist (Toni Collette) takes a enigmatic Japanese
businessman (Gotaro Tsunashima) on a tour of the Australian outback to visit
a number of mines that his company owns. The two polar opposites are thrust
together when their jeep gets stuck in the sand of the Pilabra Desert.
Forced to depend upon each other to survive, they are slowly drawn towards
each other despite cultural and personal differences. The winner of 8
Australian Film Institute Awards, including Best Film, Best Cinematography,
and Best Actress for Collette. 100 minutes.
