Breaking from the conventions of Hong Kong's action cinema, this feature from directors Gordon Chan and Dante Lam is a fresh and surprisingly cohesive combination of many different film styles. A hard-boiled police drama and a vivid character study that builds to a chaotic, violent conclusion, the story follows three very different cops as they learn to live and work in their corrupt surroundings. Beast Cops was selected as Best Film by the Hong Kong Film Critics Society in 1998 and Anthony Wong's winning performance earned him Best Actor honors. Cantonese with English subtitles.  110 minutes.
