collection of some of the best work from Czechoslovakian stop-motion
animation master Jiri Trnka, including the beloved, feature-length The
Emperor's Nightingale (1948), narrated by Boris Karloff. Also on this
volume: The Hand (1965), The Story of the Bass Cello (1949),
The Merry Circus (1950), Song of the Prairie (1949) and the
Trnka-supervised A Drop Too Much (Bretislav Pojar, 1953). Also
included is a short documentary about this visionary artist who delighted
film audiences for decades.
