Claude Brasseur, Sami Frey and Anna Karina plan to steal money hidden in a house where Karina works, but the robbery is messed up and murder is the result. Godard's thriller is set in the fringe world of Breathless--the world of outsiders. Most of the film takes place in a suburb of Paris, and Godard has transformed it into a setting of beauty and poignancy. Godard's three characters are "trembling on the edge of crime…dancing on the edge of the volcano" (Richard Roud). French with English subtitles. 95 minutes.
