"Bed and Board"
1970
Directed by Francois Truffaut

The fourth film in Truffaut's Antoine Doinel cycle, with Jean-Pierre Leaud reprising his role as the director's cinematic alter-ego. Now married to his childhood sweetheart, Christine (Claude Jade), Doinel still struggles with his own immaturity, having an affair with a Japanese beauty just as he is about to become a father for the first time. Light and comic, with a touch of the bittersweet, this is a lovingly filmed and highly enjoyable chapter in the series. Watch for an amusing appearance by "Monsieur Hulot" and other delightful nods to Truffaut's influences. French with English subtitles. 100 minutes.
