"Chloe in the Afternoon"
Directed by Eric Rohmer
This movie is, in its way, just about
perfect.: - Pauline Kael, The New Yorker.
In Chloe in the Afternoon, the last of Eric
Rohmer's Moral Tales series, Frederic (Bernard Verley) is a married
man who fantasizes about the women he sees on the street. When he runs
into Bohemian Chloe (Zouzou), an old friend, during his afternoon lunch,
he discovers that he may be too squeamish to actually cheat on his wife.
"A formal, elegant examination of someone puzzled by marital
fidelity, Chloe in the Afternoon is a wonderfully cool and lucid
expression of the twists and turns of its hero's thoughts." French with
English subtitles. Color. 98 minutes.
