Fleeing a repressive government, a group of misfits (a miner, a prostitute, a priest and a deaf-mute girl) escape through the Amazon jungle. As the journey becomes more arduous, the characters begin to shed their petty differences and work toward a common good. The discovery of a crashed airliner supplying food and money introduces a renewed unpleasantness in the group. A thriller with a surrealist's touch. Featuring Georges Marchal, Michel Piccoli and Simone Signoret. French with English subtitles.  90 minutes.
