"Grain of Sand"
1984
Directed by Pomme Meffre
An incisive study of a
woman's attempt at independence stars Delphine Seyrig as an unemployed
woman in Paris who tries to reconcile her past with her present. Solange
isolates herself from the world around her and decides to go back into the
past, to a town in Corsica where she believes she will find the only man
she has ever loved. Based on a true story, The Grain of Sand (Le
Grain de Sable) is a moving film and a stunning directing debut by
Pomme Meffre. With Delphine Seyrig, Genevieve Fontanel, Coralie Seyrig and
Michel Aumont. French with English subtitles. 90
minutes.
