"The Real Joan of Arc"
In our collective memory, Joan of Arc is the teenage
shepherd girl who was burned at the stake in Rouen after saving France
from the English. But long-buried 15th-century documents suggest another
story. At the time of the execution, many people questioned the events at
Rouen, insisting another girl was burned instead. Documentary filmmaker
and musician Martin Meissonnier (Life of
Buddha) revisits the story of the world's most famous martyr to
discern the real Joan of Arc. Also known as Jeanne d'Arc, la
Contre-Enquete and Vraie Jeanne, Fausse Jeanne. In English,
French, or German.
