An ambitious politician (Suchitra Sen) finds her life torn between her fast-rising career and her marriage to a small-time hotel manager. Using flashbacks to show the couple's early years, the story follows what occurs when they are reunited as an important election looms. This film was rather controversial in India when first released because of the connections many saw between Suchitra Sen's character and Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Hindi with English subtitles.  133 minutes.
