In order to pay for his sister's medical expenses, Madan, a small time gambler, goes to work for a sinister criminal. A doctor and a well-meaning cop both love the sick girl, while a cabaret dancer falls for Madan. All their lives will be changed dramatically when Madan tries to escape from his life of crime. With music by S.D. Burman, this film marked the directorial debut of Guru Dutt. Hindi with English subtitles. 143 minutes.
