"If I Should Fall From Grace:
The Shane MacGowan Story"
2001
Directed by Sara Share
Filmmaker Sara Share
takes a look inside the self-destructive, yet artistically brilliant, mind
of Irish singer-songwriter, Shane MacGowan. From his teenage days fronting
the punk band, The Nips, through his tenure with the Pogues and the Popes,
MacGowan's words and music have captured the tormented soul of humanity
better than most of his contemporaries, aligning him more with James Joyce
rather than his punk rock brethren. Features interviews with friends,
family, fellow musicians and MacGowan himself, in addition to performance
footage by the Pogues.
