a brilliant study of the nature of truth. Set in the 12th century. A samurai and his wife

"rashomon was the first kurosawa movie i saw, and i have enjoyed his work since then. the many perspectives of the same story is very interesting, showing the viewer that not everything you hear is true. mifune's performance is great, even though he can sometimes be too emotional. when compared to the usual b-movie godzilla films and anime which i have a special place in my heart, this might seem too serious and credible, but then again, i hold well directed dramas to be much better than the usual crap i watch. also, check out yojimbo, ran, and seven samurai cause i said so" |
