"The Red Shoes"
2005
Directed by Kim Yong-Gyun
Not to
be confused with the Michael Powell classic, this Korean horror film tells
of a pair of red heels that unleash terror and destruction upon their new
owner. Abandoned mysteriously on a Seoul subway platform, the cursed shoes
are discovered by a young optometrist (Kim Hye-su). After bringing the heels
home, Seon-jae (Hye-su) is plagued by visions of their former owner - a
beautiful ballet dancer in 1940s Korea with a bitter rivalry that took a
deadly turn. "Genuinely startling" (BeyondHollywood.com). Korean with
English subtitles.
