"Insatiability"
2003
Directed by
Wiktor Grodecki
Wiktor Grodecki's lavish, mind-bending allegory is adapted from a classic
novel by Stanislaw Witkacy. A provocative, dystopian romp through a
crumbling Eastern Europe, the film assumes the point-of-view of an
18-year-old heir to a successful Polish brewery. As the young aristocrat
reels from the scurrilous advances of a greedy princess and a gay
hunchback monk, he watches his country succumb to a swarm of invaders from
Asia. "A futuristic remake of Pasolini's Salo" (Variety). In
Polish with English subtitles. 128 minutes.
