The 1990 Cannes Film Festival awarded its Best Actress award to Krystyna Janda for her performance in this intense drama of a woman vicitmized by a Stalinist government. The film details the horrible abuse of a cabaret singer in 1950's Warsaw who was arrested after a one-night stand with a military officer. Originally banned by the Polish government, "Interrogation" is one of the most powerful films to come out of  Poland in the last several decades. Polish with English subtitles.
