"Giuseppe in Warsaw"
1964
Directed by Stanislaw Lenartowicz

Legendary Polish screen stars Zbigniew Cybulski and Elzbieta Czyzewski lead this light-hearted comedy set in occupied Poland during World War II. Cybulski plays an artist whose kind-hearted sister, Maria, brings an Italian deserter named Giuseppe into their Warsaw apartment. Trouble begins when Giuseppe falls for Maria (Czyzewski), who tries to keep her involvement in the Polish underground under wraps. A cult favorite on the festival circuit, Giuseppe in Warsaw is on the lighter side of classic Polish cinema. Polish with English subtitles. 94 minutes.
