An aged scientist is criticized by his colleagues for his support of the Revolution of 1917 and finds friendship and support among the sailors of the Baltic Fleet, who elect him as their deputy to the Petrograd Soviet, in this first-rate psychological drama. Nikolai Cherkassov, in his first major role, gives a brilliant portrayal of the 75-year-old professor although he himself was only 32. Russian with English subtitles.  95 minutes.
