"Kika"
1994
Directed by Pedro Almodovar
Pedro Almodovar's
offbeat sex farce is the story of Kika, a make-up artist who is called to the mansion of a
wealthy American writer to makeup the corpse of his dead stepson. Her attention
revives the young man, and they begin to live together, along with a photographer
specializing in women's lingerie. Their maid, Juanita, is madly in love with Kika, while
Ramon's stepfather likes to seduce her from time to time. That's only the beginning of the
preposterous goings on which really heat up when Pablo, Juanita's brother, an on-the-lam
ex-porno star, enters the picture. Veronica Forque won a Goya Award for her portrayal of
Kika. Spanish with English subtitles.
