unfailing optimism. Alou is an African immigrant man in Spain who refuses to be
depressed by all the instances of exploitation and discrimination that he encounters in
his new home. This social drama won Best Picture and Best Male Lead at the San Sebastian
Film Festival as well as Goyas (the most important national film awards of Spain) for
Cinematography and Best Screenplay Originally Written for the Screen. Spanish, French and
Senegalese with English subtitles.
