"Letters from the Park"

Set in Matanzas, Cuba, 1913, this is the enchanting story of two young people too shy to pursue the intimacy they both seek. Each seek the services of a local poet to write love letters to each other. The poet writes the letters to make some extra money but also to unburden himself of the unbounded love he feels but for which he has no outlet. When the young woman of the couple becomes the object of his affection, he is confused and faced with a moral and emotional dilemma in this surprising and sweet romance. Based on an original story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Spanish with English subtitles.
