"The Passion of Anna"
1969
Directed by Ingmar Bergman

Cinematographer, Swen Nykvist's  explosive use of color breaks with tradition in this, one of Bergman's first works in color about the political, social and sexual interplay of four people on a remote Swedish island, each overcome by associations of guilt, remorse and rage.  In a Godardian move, the characters frequently break down and discuss the nature of their role. With Max Von Sydow, Liv Ullmann, Bibi Andersson and Erland Josephson. Swedish with English subtitles.  101 minutes.
