A rare comedy from the great Raul Ruiz (The Three Crowns of the Sailor), That Day skewers its characters' greed and compulsion in a playfully absurdist manner. Michel Piccoli stars as Harald, the patriarch of a high society family, whose status is slipping due to money woes. In an effort to bump off his daughter--the heir to his wife's fortune--Harald arranges for the escape of Poinpoirot (Bernard Giraudeau), a deranged serial killer depraved enough to do the deed.
