At the heart of this disarmingly funny and sexy comedy is a middle-aged woman filmmaker, a bit on the chubby side, with a rather confused personal life, who is making a soap opera titled The Jaws of Life.  "What makes The Jaws of Life so satisfying is the loose comic flow of the narrative, bittersweet perspective on the foibles of life, and the overall philosophical bent.." Variety.   The TV soap opera follows the life of a chubby office clerk not unlike the filmmaker. The two stories unfold side by side until the stories begin to converge.
