"The Secret of Nikola
Tesla"
1980
Directed by
Kristo Papic
A
USA/Yugoslavia co-production, featuring Orson Welles as J.P. Morgan, focuses on the
character of Nikola Tesla, one of the leading scientific geniuses of the 19th century,
whose experiments with
alternating current were crucial in the development of electronic
technology. He finds himself locked in a battle with Thomas Edison,
George Westinghouse and financier J.P. Morgan. Tesla is presented as a
tortured, brilliant and complex man of sometimes maddening manifestations
(he claimed to be in communication with beings from outer space). A
compelling psychological drama. In English. 105
minutes.

Comments From:
"Randy Hiatt" "An excellent
docu-drama on Tesla. Great acting, and a good look into the AC vs DC electrification of the world. Also a peek into Tesla's other (more far reaching) experiments with wireless electrical transmission.
This should be on TV!!" |
