Filmed in 1933 in the bombed-out city of Vukovar, Yugoslavia, while the war was still raging, Vukovar is the award-winning story of two childhood friends--one Croat, the other Serb--who marry, only to be torn apart by a war which ravages their native Yugoslavia. A grim testament to the inexorable effects of war, Vukovar was recommended for a White House screening and blocked by the Croatian government from a United Nations screening. Serbo-Croatian with English subtitles.  95 minutes.
