(I Remember)
Italy - 1974
Directed by Federico Fellini
Fellini remembers his youth in the town of Rimini through the experiences of a
young boy named Titta (Bruno Zanin). Somehow, this village of Fellini's childhood
memory remains aloof during the rise of fascism and the movement toward WWII. As
life parades by, the action on screen is like a 3-ring circus, typically Fellini.
Excellent casting is the secret to the success of this film, with a sweet
nostalgic musical score that swirls through the town as the images create a blur of
memories shared by the inhabitants. As always, Fellini provides impeccable direction
in this, his most popular film. A Fellini masterpiece! Amarcord
won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film (1975).
