Worthy martial-arts film that uses outstanding cinematography and
choreography to bring a legend to life. The story is about a contest, held once
every 100 years between Japanese Ninjas and Chinese Shaolin monks. In this century's
event, the two chosen participants have become friends, and combine forces to defeat an
enemy.
Duel to the Death was director, Siu-Tung Ching's first
film. The costumes and sets are wonderful and the action choreography is impressive,
earning the film a nomination for Best Action Choreography from the Hong Kong Film Awards
(1984).
Runtime: 100 minutes
